Haunted Cincinnati: How did you guys come up with the
name Sandyland Acres?
Gene & Brenda: Sandyland Acres is the name of the farm that the hayride
is on. The ground in this town is all sand. You could remove all of the
grass and you would have a beach.
Haunted Cincinnati: Tell me a little bit about the hayride.
Gene & Brenda: The haunted hayride is a 30 minute long ride with lots of
surprises. You will ride through scenes that contain a cornfield, barn,
and other horror movie based themes. The cost is $10 or if you have a
group it is $8 a person. Kids 5 and under are free. We also have a VIP
line for $15 if you don’t want to wait in line.
Haunted Cincinnati: You are both horror movie buffs how does that
translate in your hayride?
Gene & Brenda: About 75% of the hayride is based off of horror movies.
The rest are original ideas. Our main character is Pumpkinseed which is
based off of a local legend.
Haunted Cincinnati: What rating would you give the hayride?
Gene & Brenda: Any age can go through the hayride. We had some go
through the hayride that were 8 years old that really enjoyed it and
some teenagers who freaked out.
Haunted Cincinnati: Do you have a concession stand?
Gene & Brenda: Yes we will have coffee, hot chocolate, pop, popcorn,
chips, etc.
Haunted Cincinnati: What are your hours?
Gene & Brenda: We will be open from September 22nd through October 31st
on Fridays and Saturday’s from 7:00pm-11:00pm. We will also be open the
Friday before Halloween through Halloween. If you purchase a ticket at
11:00pm than you will be guaranteed no matter how long the line is to
get on the hayride.
Haunted Cincinnati wishes our Kentucky neighbors the best of luck with
this new haunted hayride and cannot wait to see it in action. Get out
and support these good people!
