The Dent Public School opened up in 1894. It was claimed as the "best educational spot" to send local children of Cincinnati. The school was a success and produced fine young adults for many years. It wasn't until 1942 until the education system of the school went sour. Several students went missing and were not found. Some officials claimed that the students were runaways. In 1945, four more students went missing. Word began to travel fast that the disappearances had something to do with the school. After more than 10 disappearances and strange smells coming from the basement, a group on angry parents and community members mobbed the school and rushed down to the basement. A horrific scene of rotting school children was found through the walls of the basement. The man to blame was the school's Janitor, Charlie. The Janitor was never found and is still said to be at large. Learn more about the legend at frightsite.com. The Dent Schoolhouse is located at 5963 Harrison Avenue in Cincinnati Ohio.
